Kindred Spirits

A social club for people with early stage memory loss.

This innovative pilot program is a partnership between the Office on Aging & the Alzheimer's Association, Greater Maryland Chapter.

The purpose of the Social Club is to provide a place for people walking the same journey to come together for socialization, companionship, support, education, and a sense of purpose in a safe and nurturing environment

The Social Club will include structured therapeutic support activities such as music, art and yoga. Members are invited to participate in activities that are offered by the Glenwood 50+ program, which they can do alone or as a group.

Program Structure

The program meets on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9am-1pm. The fee is $30 per day and includes coffee and tea, snacks and a nutritionally balanced lunch. Some activities in the Glenwood 50+ Center may have an additional fee.

Who Can Participate?

The program is designed to meet the needs of those individuals who have a medical diagnosis of early memory loss or a related memory disorder. Screening for eligibility into the Social Club will be conducted by the Director or our trained Office on Aging staff, to insure that individuals are able to benefit from the program.*

*This is a transitional program, so that when the needs of the participant can no longer be met by the Social Club, the staff will assist with an appropriate referral.
